Chardonnay - 1st official meeting

Friday, February 8, 2008 @ 8pm was the first official meeting of the Snobby Wine Club. We tasted 6 bottles of Chardonay:(purchased from Mondo Vino) 3 Old World & 3 New World- 3 from France, and the rest from Australia, Argentina, & California.

#1 - Vero - 2004 - Chad & Katie's favorite, 13% alcohol $18.
fruity, citrusy, grapefruit, light finish, smooth & clean. (Shannon didn't care for this one)

#2 - Domaine du Chardonnay- Chablis - 2005, 12.5 %, $20.70 Shannon's, Rob's & Matt's favorite - spicey, peppery, earthy, dirty. try sampling w/ chicken, pork w/ apple chutney

#3-Saint Veran- a 2006 white Burgundy for $13.

#4 - Wildberry Estate 2005- from Western Australia for $13
2006 - $8.

#6- de Lyeth from Sonoma Co, California- a 2005 for $9 and a favorite of Adam, Rainy, and Abby.
